Kandice Holmes is a London-based writer, photographer, and musician, with over a decade of experience in the music and events industry. She has produced and assisted many notable events such as Letters Live in London, New York and Los Angeles, in which culturally and historically significant letters are read to audiences by renowned performers. She served as Communications Director for Secret Cinema Founders’ project Lost, a socially driven project exploring innovative ways to create and share art. In addition, she has worked as Artist Liaison Manager for festivals in the UK and U.S, including Desert Daze, a pivotal platform for the international psychedelic rock scene.
Several years of community organising led to curating well-received community events at Tate Exchange and V&A Late. She was also honoured to join the Board of Decentralised Technology organisation Furtherfield, to support experimental initiatives in decentralised arts and technology practices.
With a personality marked by her enthusiasm and peaceful spirit, Kandice has a passion for elevating cultural perspectives, influenced by her own Anglo-Indian and Dominican heritage. Her influences also include having briefly lived in Berlin, Los Angeles, and the Greek Island of Lesvos, where she supported people seeking sanctuary from across the world. It’s her desire therefore, to tell stories that cultivate nuanced conversations through multidisciplinary art forms, communicating unique insights, shared values, revealing common ground for our rich and diverse human experience.
On a personal level, Kandice sees Art Direction as a new home for her experiences and skills that can potentially have an impact on social innovation. She loves exploring the relationship creativity has with the senses, to catalyse emotions, new ways of thinking and positively influence action.
Currently studying theology and art, Kandice’s personal and visual philosophy is pursuing the restoration of all things.
