Sehgeh, Freelance Multidisciplinary Art Director, Filmmaker and Photographer
Reeyana Sehgeh (she/her/y’all) is a multidisciplinary visual storyteller, art director, and designer based in Atlanta, Ga. Sehgeh’s work explores liberation, black womanhood, Black culture, and art livability. Having started her career at Clark Atlanta University, Sehgeh found an interest in curating work (via visual storytelling) that shows the complexities of the black experience and the relationships within it.
Using filmmaking (documentary, narrative, experimental), Photography, Art Direction, and Design Sehgeh questioned how she could change the representation of blackness in the media; Thus, creating work that spoke with and through the souls of black folks instead of speaking for and absent of those impacted by marketing tactics.
Awarded Wongdoody’s 2020 Black Womxn To Watch Scholarship, Sehgeh plans to pair her love of filmmaking and advertising to become a creative director that amplifies the visibility of accessibility, inclusivity, and blackness; while reshaping the nuances of diversity in media.
